Well to me i think Jesus had to go through Samaria firstly because,in the kingdom of God and life in general, nothing happens by chance.his going to Samaria was because there was a divine accomplishment Secondly women were looked upon as second class citizen so in his divine assignment women were also included and were to relate with him just as any other person Furthermore, even though his initial assignment was for the lost sheep of israel,he turned to the whole world when the lost sheep of Israel rejected Samaria being one of those countries that the Jews were prohibited to relate with.his going through it and talking with a woman from there speaks of his universal assignment to save the whole world

Mark Anthony's comment on 2014-04-30 01:24:28:

Jesus had to go through Samaria, simply because He had a divine appointment there to redeem the men of that land. Remember the incidence in Genesis 34 where Shechem raped Dinah the daughter of Jacob and Simeon and Levi later on killed the men? Then Jesus was asked by His Father to go and redeem the men of that city, that is why when the woman went into the city, only the men were called. What happened hundreds of years earlier, Jesus came to redeem, by divine appointment from heaven. Do you then see why He MUST GO THROUGH SAMARIA? Be blessed.

StarChrist Jesus's comment on 2014-01-16 08:56:03:

The point that Jesus needs to go to Samaria is not b/c the place is b/n Judea and Galilee or b/c the road is laying directly through it, But b/c of that one soul that has to be saved and the salvation to take place in there through. His mission was/is salvation. It is necessary for Him to look for the one lost Sheep. Cause He is Love.
