Men speak well of you when you live your life as a men pleaser. Paul said if I be a pleaser of men, then I can not please God. This is the very nature of false prophets they can 't please him and neither can the people that follow them . Speaking what people want to hear instead of telling them what will save their souls. This is also the very nature of those who say it doesn 't make a difference in what you believe, but God never said that. It should be clearly evident to any bible scholar that the bible shows in each and every case that it does make a difference and there are consequences from following our own line of thinking. God said in Isaiah, "my thoughts are not your thoughts and neither are my ways yours. Unfortunately this is the reason why Jesus said in Matthews the gate to hell is wide and broad, and many if not most will be on it. Because strait and narrow is the way to heaven there be few that find it, not them as many say!

Woe to you when all men speak well of you. Jesus wanted His disciples to know the cost of following Him, and that the false Teachers would be popular. Those that live godly will suffer persecution.

Jesus said I come to bring a sword not peace. This talking about bad men saying good things about bad men. But the application to this verse is professed Christians living there lives like there worrying about losing a vote. instead of standing for bible truth and telling there friends what they need to here the real truth that can save there souls they take the beaten path. When Jesus started his public ministry he lasted three years and they beat him beyond reconistion. It's going to cost you when you take a real stand for the Lord. they delievered him up for envy.
