This is by farr my favorite verse in scripture. I qoute it all the time,because the verse is true. We can look at it which ever way we want but the verse is what it is.

Yes we will be like him when he shall appear, that's a revelation_and what we don't knw is not yet revealed.
we shall be like him in glory,so let's rejoice for the revelation

once we have received the spirit of God He begins the work on the inside to transform us to the image of Him, not the full power of the All mighty, but as it says in Genesis, God made man in his image. through sin, we became less than what we are meant to be.
