Even though god has created the world for us to live in, we need not be involved in enjoying all the material thing of the world for we will not have joy and peace in our lives. When we not believe in his existence in our lives, we will forever be troubled for he is the creator of all, therefore us forgetting that and not thanking him, we therefore will not have peace and joy in our lives. Hence the world is continuously in turmoil. It is because of we don 't invite god in our lives, we don 't regard him as our superior in our lives, we don 't really believe in his existence in our lives. Thus we shall have temporarily enjoyment of all the possession we obtain in our lives, because he shall take it from us while you still trying to have enjoyment of it. Acknowledging god every day in our lives and ask him to bless all the gift you receive and not only once but everyday of one 's life, will bring continues peace!

We can pursue 'minding of the spirit' by regularly setting our minds on the things of the spirit and allowing a spiritual inclination and attitude to develop in us. We want to build our life around a spirtual routine that includes regular prayer, Bible reading and study and worship of Jehovah God.
