It says I Tertius, and Tertius is a slave name. And the name Tertius means three. Many of the lower class slaves were numbers. They were not names.

It says I Tertius, who wrote this epistle. He was Paul's amanuensis. Paul dictated the letter to Tertius. I salute you in the Lord.

So Paul let him. Paul said go ahead, if you want to greet him, put in your own greeting, number 3!

Why in this verse do we read . I Tertius, who wrote this epistle, salute you in ten Lord. ?
