Always amazed how the Angle of the Lord in Revelation explains the meaning in Chapter 17. However, thank God, the world is not able to understand it's true meaning. Revelation to me seems to be a book where it's contents cannot be understood unless one is "Born Again" and understand the role of the Holy Spirit in understanding scriptures. Spiritual interpretation, (revealing and guiding into all truth) is one aspect I love when reading scriptures and God's confirmation with it's meaning. Yes, we are in a spiritual war with dark forces in high places, but must be "wise as serpents but gentle as doves, (A.K.A. flying below the radar of the evil one). Keep the Faith Brothers and Sisters.

is not the beast a representation of the power of church and state united, being controlled by the papacy, the harlot. The scarlet color a symbol of the assumed power of church and state and also the symbol of the terrible persecution that has and will again occur when this beast again rises from the bottomless pit, when worldwide union of church and state occur when protestantism unites with the papacy controlling the governments of this world.
