As we Christians understand, this passage concerns very difficult times that will come about to the point that many will contemplate taking up arms or joining in some fight, perhaps in self defense. Because Christians true are not allowed to kill anyone or join any pagan army and so far there has not yet ever been a Christian country on Earth that we know of , it will indeed be a test of their faith and endurance.

Revelation 13:10 is a prophecy concerning the Papacy, in 1798 Napoleons General Berthier took the Pope Pius VI captive where he died in captivity, thus fulfilling the 1260 year "or 3 and 1/2 year reign of the Papacy" in Ezekiel 4:6 and numbers 3:4, GOD gives a year for a day concerning bible time prophecy.
