Thank you, Chris! It was good to remember that David really didn't have a temple to go to (I didn't remember this detail). And really the church can serve us as a meeting place with God. I find then that there are two meeting places: externally, in the Church, and internally, in the secret of our hearts. Thank you for the answer, pray for me; God bless you!

I agree with you that it couldn't be the temple that David was referring to, as the Temple wasn't built yet - the first one built was by his son, Solomon. At that time, the Tabernacle was the place where God met with His people through the ministry of the High Priest & by the conduct of sacrifices. David could have referred to this 'Tent' as the House of the Lord, but as in so many of his writings, David always looked forward to the Heavenly Temple not made with hands. He might have regarded the time spent in prayer, seeking the Mind of God, or in the Tabernacle surrounds as special, but when He saw the Lord, with the eyes of faith & hope, all he could envision was the Lord in all His Glory, His Beauty & his longing to be with Him.

And for us to, it does us good to be at a Church Fellowship to worship the Lord together, but if we're not there or not having one suitable to go to, can we still find every reason & joy within to lift up our hearts in praise of God & to enjoy His Beauty & envision His Glory? What a day that will be, when our faith & hope we've held onto, become sight for us as we worship at His Temple: right in the Presence of the Lord of Glory.

What did David meant by "House of the Lord"? Could it be the temple? I think not. Because David could not be in the temple every day, he was a king and had his duties. Then, would it be a spiritual level? Would it be a state of grace? A life of continuous prayer?

David showed us a good example by wanting to be in the house of the Lord am just blessed because after reading this verse I have been asking myself "Have I ever asked God that I want to dwell in his house for the rest of my life? " the was no. So I am blessed with David 's words that no matter what it 's better to be found in the house of the Lord in doing so we will be able to do exactly as him, thinking and everything. Amen

We are to desire the Lord above all else, to be in communion with Him, seek His council, His grace and mercy. Without Him we can do nothing.

At this point David bogged down by situation, didn 't seem sure as to whether he could go on with God 's business. Thank God for his prayer, he would have fainted vs 13 14.
