Hi,
This verse in Philippians is is yellow highlighted in my Bible because it is for me a "life" verse, one that I review often and hide in my heart to remember the excellencies of Christ's character that this verse describes and how I am to guard my thinking to keep it on the right track and focused on Christ, especially when tempted to sin in my thoughts.

This scripture is important because it tells us to choose or decide to do what is good mentally, emotionally, and physically in order to cause positive products that insure our mental, emotional, and physical well being. Having the mind of Christ is what allows us to put this verse into practice. Jesus said as a man thinks in his heart, so is he. So we must learn to think good thoughts, and rebuke those thoughts that are not Christ like. So whatever things are true, honest, noble, pure, praise worthy, and of good report, think on these things.
