Hi,

This verse in Philippians is is yellow highlighted in my Bible because it is for me a "life" verse, one that I review often and hide in my heart to remember the excellencies of Christ's character that this verse describes and how I am to guard my thinking to keep it on the right track and focused on Christ, especially when tempted to sin in my thoughts.

Thanks for bringing it up on this forum. Made my night.

I so needed this truth in my life right now-'s comment on 2021-12-11 03:42:03:

Just reading these words brings calming of the mind and opens one 's spirit to the energy of god 's love.

Only the word of God is true, good, pure & lovely. Philippians is telling me to think on my Lord and savior, and to meditate on His word in Jesus name.

Goodness....to experience this or these verses is the ultimate of satisfaction in Jesus Christ. To experience his power of grace to us has given me one direct word to know the lovely ness of Christ. To know He cares so much and He knows you and helps you in your life.... Is the ultimate of satisfaction and lovely ness that I need to stay motivation in Him and to keep me moving forward. An experience should keep us going and falling in Love with him more and more.

"Thou will keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee. " Isaiah 26 3 If we think on these eight "principles " there is no way for us to go wrong in the sight of God. Things that are true, pure, of virtue, good and of praise, glorify God. We can have nothing but peace of mind and joy in our hearts, because God will bless those who think on Him. He even writes it down in His book of rememberance when we talk about God one to another. If we truly want peace, then think on things that are godly.

I like the verse. We are always going through something, we must learn to cast our cares on God. Inspite of what we are going through God is still good!

Emmanuel's comment on 2013-12-22 06:20:44:

We all have problems in our lives caused by sin and our disobedience to God.We can choose to think and live in our sins leading to the opportunity to live more sinfully or we can think on what is true, honest, just, pure and lovely. That Jesus Christ is our Lord and Savior and loves us so much that he gave his life for us, so we may have life abundantly. Not only physically but emotionally, spiritually and life after this world

Thinking is a form of doing what is good. Thinking or doing what is good causes positive reactions, benefits, and products. This scripture is important because it tells us to choose or decide to do what is good mentally, emotionally, and physically in order to cause positive products that insure our mental, emotional, and physical well being. There are many good examples of what to do in the Bible. They are all showing us to choose or decide to do what is good mentally, emotionally, or physically to cause positive reactions, benefits, and products that maximize our well being with minimal effort. Thank God.

God's word is a lamp that guides our feet and our entire life endeavor. Abiding by Philippians 4:8 equals to total surrender to God's guidance, which is what we need to survive in this life, and to fulfill our destiny. May God continue to light our path and guide us all.

If this verse were to be made real and embraced by Christians what a different world this would be. This verse sums everything Jesus taught in a very practical way

Is also known as Fruit of the Spirit: Galatians 5:22-25(KJV). Also ties in with the full armor of God, in part "The power of prayer." Paul adds the Power of Prayer to the Full Armor of God: "And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the Lord's people." (Ephesians 6:18, NIV.

THIS SCRIPTURE TELLS US HOW TO THINK, AND WHAT TO THINK ABOUT, IN MY JOURNEY ON THIS EARTH, I THANK GOD FOR HIS NEVERENDING GUIDANCE.THE BIBLE IS GODS WORD SO WHATEVER IT SAYS , IS TRUE, GOD IS WORTHY OF ALL PRAISE, HIS WORD IS PURE, HOLY, TRUTH.GOD IS GOOD.

Timothy Wayne George's comment on 2013-02-07 06:42:05:

Having the mind of Christ is what allows us to put this verse into practice. Jesus said as a man thinks in his heart, so is he. So we must learn to think good thoughts, and rebuke those thoughts that are not Christ like. So whatever things are true, honest, noble, pure, praise worthy, and of good report, think on these things. As we meditate on these things, we will be filled with the joy of the Lord, which is our strength, and we will be able to rejoice in the Lord always. May the Lord who gives us strength prepare our hearts to put these things into practice every day of our lives.
