Hi Willow, your absolutely right, let Jesus take the wheel, let Him be the captain of our ship.

Matthew starting at chapter 5, the Beatitudes and sermon on the mount is one of my favorites, also Galatians chapter 5 explains the works of the flesh and the fruits of the Spirit.

Galatians 5:12-18, I would they were even cut off which trouble you. For, brethren, ye have been called unto liberty; only use not liberty for an occasion to the flesh, but by love serve one another. For all the law is fulfilled in one word, even in this; Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. But if ye bite and devour one another, take heed that ye be not consumed one of another. This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh. For the flesh lusteth against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh: and these are contrary the one to the other: so that ye cannot do the things that ye would. But if ye be led of the Spirit, ye are not under the law.

I was looking for verses on gossip and lying in the KJV bible and this verse really spoke out to me, I have been out of touch lately with my church and reading of my bible and just neglecting my relationship with God and Jesus. As a result I find it easier and easier to get away from my resposibilities as a christian, and in today's world it's more important than ever to lean on God. So the reason I was looking for these verses on gossip and lies is, I found myself getting caught up in this at work a bit with much regret and guilt. So I felt this verse is a good reminder to Let Jesus take the wheel as I can really mess things up when I am not listening to God.

I would like to do an in-depth Bible study on this scripture. I understand the word "idle" being defined as without meaning ... useless . I can certainly be guilty of "yakking" without knowing Im Getting on other peoples nerves. I ask for Gods mercy. I Thank Him for his love and understanding.

All of "God 's People " will have much to answer to the Lord for. We are all guilty of saying things that do not edify the church or uplift the people around us. However, God has given us an advocate named Jesus that we can go to and repent of our foolishness. God shows mercy to all who repent.
