One lesson Jesus may be teaching is patience for others that don't see the details as clearly as you. Those whom Christ has called sometimes have a distorted view of Christ and others, but be patient with them don't discount them God is not through with them. Christ is still working with them. His work is not finished yet. Pray for them that God's mercy and grace lead them to repentance by faith and they would see the wonderful riches of God's kingdom. That they would experience the fullness of a Christlike life.

Meta R Seyton's comment on 2015-08-08 18:08:13:

From touching trees, the blind man perceives shape of trees and from touching people he perceives shape of people. But without clarity or just by seeing, he could not see the difference between the two, the tree and people. The apostles, like the blind man need clarity or to really see and understand. That clarity, sight and understanding is Jesus.

Men as trees walking. Perhaps he was seeing that all men produce good or bad fruit, little or abundant fruit in their walk with or without God the Father.

I heard our pastor say that Jesus did the first attempt the blind man was looking with spiritual eyes and saw the heavenly hosts and angels moving around He saw these big creatures the angels and related them as big as trees Then the second attempt Jesus opened the blind man s earthly eyes

I ask myself the same question Joseph. The miracle Jesus performed before always took one attempt. He prayed and it happen. This miracle took two attempts. I believe Jesus wanted to show us how important it is to have the right vision. To see men as tree is to have the wrong perspective. So God had to fix it. But he did that just to prove a point.

Jesus knowing the man's heart worked the work of God in two parts as a point of building the faith of those who were watching not just this man alone but his disciples also / as for the man who was full grown I am sure though he had never seen a tree knew what a tree was by touch / people who are blind are very perceptive even without sight / my own experience with members in my wife's family has proved this to me / we all need to lift our hands in praise to God as the trees do and the leave beg for rain / we of the Spirit to fill us to overflow in God's love.

I think that though physical blindness was there Jesus performed a miracle in a process, ist stage he begin to open the blinded eyes to show this man the that he had the power to restore and that in turn activated the man's faith and hope in God, 2nd stage the finishing work was done too perfect the faith of the once blind man and to reveal the authenticity of Jesus and who he really is. Seeing men as trees was a message to the man to not be a form of a man only .Then seeing men as they are was a message for that man to now be the kind of man that God created him to be.

Marvin Miller's comment on 2013-08-02 18:49:36:

Wasn't this man taken alone from the village? How could he see men walking as trees if there were no others but Jesus with him? Maybe he mistook trees as men to start with since he hadn't seen a tree, but probably felt their bark, trunks and limbs.

Lloyd D. Myers's comment on 2011-06-19 22:08:05:

Men walking as trees, Who saw this a blind man? how would he know how a tree look like? I myself think that Jesus showed him the beginning, man in the garden of Eden as trees or the spirit form of man in
God's image and likeness. the third eye before our mind was close to dreams. the true dimension before we took of the forbidden tree.

out of all the miracales performed by jesus, why did this one take two attempts? what did he see in that verse that looked like men as trees?
