Joy,with the greatest respect Jesus is revealing how we are to respond to his gospel in verse 46.Baptism has to be performed in Christ's name,which is Jesus.Salvation is found in no other.(Act4;12).Peter obeyed this commandment on the day of Pentecost in Acts2;38.Only a Jesus baptism can remit our sins.

Just a lesser version of Matthew 28:19 .... Still Acts 2:38 .... It took me reading Acts 2:38 , hundreds of times before I was able to receive it with all my heart!... It was taught to me by the same Holy Spirit that Peter the Apostle was empowered with on the day of Pentecost .... Something to ponder

Jesus means that the repentance and forgiveness should start from Jerusalem in the name of Almighty God the Creator and not in the name of Jesus. If it were to in the name of Jesus, it would have been said "And that repentance and remission of sinnes should be preached in MY NAME, among all nations, beginning at Hierusalem. So all christian should take note:
