To me believing is not just enough to get you in, because the Demons also believe. Jesus said it himself you must strive. Salvation is a paradox, it is free and costly. Imagine where our Gospel would be today, if the Disciples were not striving. There is no partiality in God, we all must strive to enter in, only the violent will take it by force.

Mgbeadichie Chinedu's comment on 2014-01-25 20:35:17:

Strive connotes 'struggle'. You must do all you can or struggle by God's grace to ensure that no form of sin remains with you. But those that take it for pleasure-serving God with sin and still have the mind of entering heaven at the end will be disappointed.

Sigmund Ivarsson's comment on 2013-10-16 08:39:00:

Those who try to enter some other way are those who try to come in on account of their own righteousness. It is a terrible trap. The more we obey the law the more we are proud of ourselves. It is human nature. We keep away from temptation and then we think we deserve our place but actually when we find out that all are allowed in we get offended by God's mercy. What happens is that we are offended by God. It is a matter of fact we think how can he let "them" in.This is not a God we can accept and we walk away just as the gates open and the ones who feel like they do not deserve it accept the invitation and enter rejoicing.

Sigmund Ivarsson's comment on 2013-10-11 02:58:27:

If the gate is so narrow of course many cannot enter at the same time. Not only that but it is also very low so that you must bow down very low to enter. Watch you heads sort of warning. If your head is up high full of pride you will get knocked out but if you bow you also cannot hide any weapons. These things that the Camel cannot bring in nor a person are worldly goods and the traditions of men. You say but these are our tradition and God says drop them. You say they are sacred, God says they are unclean. All of them to the trash heap to be burned. You say I am burning your honor and I say how perceptive of you. Do you still want to come in?

This verse reminds me of (Men ought always to pray and not to faint--Submit to God and give no place to the devil--abide in Me--and God is the rewarder of them that diligently seek Him). Hallelujah the Way is plain and simple!

It is a wake up call to those who want to make it to Heaven. You must finish your work and your not done until you hear God say well done my good and faithful servant. Read Romans 8:9
