It seems to me that the Pharisees of that time had "painted themselves into a corner". Their non-biblical laws regarding "untie-ing" and "leading" are not supported in Exodus. In fact surely the watering of the "ox and ***" (Lk 13) is allowed for in Ex 23:12 where under sabbath law the "ox and ***" are allowed rest. Silly hypocrites!
