Darkness could never understood how God, the creator of all that exist could have left his home in glory and became flesh to suffer and die to save mankind, darkness could never understood how mankind transgression, iniquity ,curses, sickness and sin could be destroyed.Darkness could never understood how God 's wrath could be removed from us and that we would become sons of God. It never knew how, when and where the Death and Hell would lose its power and man would receive the salvation from the Lord and be free from their burden of sins. Darkness could never understood God 's love for us. Praise God

God is the only true light. He must be preached as the light in the world at large.

In God we trust. Light is truth, and truth is God.

Every Man and Woman has gift of enlightenment contained
Within themselves no person can improve from without.
Every improvement has to come from within self.
Sit quietly and listen to the light within.

Darkness have never defeated light.

Darkness + Light = Light

Jesus who is the light shines forenever.

Tamsyn's comment on 2013-07-04 20:13:37:

The light, as James stated in 2010, is the Word of God. But John, the gospel writer, is not referring to The Bible as "the Word of God". He is referring to God's living communication, the person of Jesus. That written book, The Bible, gives an account of Jesus, and the way he communicated God's message in actions and words. It gives an account of life before Jesus' incarnation, and an account after Jesus incarnation. But Christians should never lose sight of the fact that it was Jesus who was God's message to the world (God's Word), not the written book that gives testimony to the life of Jesus, and the struggle by people like the apostles, most notably Paul, to make sense of the events and base a theology on them.

Today, we have whole schools of theology, and churches that have grown out of them that worship "The Word of God" in the form of a written text. Sure, it provides the only record we have of Jesus' teaching and life. It also informs us of the prophecies that heralded him and the church that followed. But mistaking the written words of fallible man as God's dictation leads to all sorts of problems. Jesus, incarnate, crucified and risen is sufficient. He was, is and will remain "The light that shineth in the darkness".

I think that darkness can't handle light.

Fabrice's comment on 2012-07-10 19:06:26:

While we read through the gospel of saint John,we need to understadn that the word darkness itself does not mean the absence of light.Spiritual darkness is a form of light which is not from God. This is why saint paul in his epistle had to say Satan can disguise himself as an angel of light, that is,a form of light not of God.
The second thing i will like to draw our attention to here is the mystery hidden behind the name LORD. These four letter words means a lot. This is the full meaning of the word LORD. LIGHT OVER RULES DARKNESS.L stands for LIGHT,O stands for OVER,R stands for RULE,and D stands for DARKNESS. In this case,we see that Jesus being of a superior light which is of God rules over the depraved world of sin which is spiritual ignorance. The word darkness in a simpler word will be called spiritual ignorance or depravity of who God is? Since the world has been under a false light called darkness, when the real light of creation which is Jesus came to recreate humanity in the book of saint John 1:5,it became absolute impossible for people to believe him because they have been used to the false light brought about by the fall of Adam and Eve in the garden, and that false light is ignorance of their divinity.

I believe that christians are children who walk in the light. The non believing world (in darkness) does not percieve us and we must illuminate their path, bybeing a shining examble.

james's comment on 2010-12-28 18:23:44:

the light, i believe is the word of god and the darkness is our own despair. we know the word of god, we hear it and we choose to look the other way. but the light is still their and burning brightly. when we seek that light we finally realize that it has never went out. instead we were only looking the other way
