The book of Joel is another identifying marker of the last days but it is also the history of the Hebrews and slavery. Captivity and slavery identify who the people of Israel were then and who they are now. If a people claiming to be Israel have no history of captivity and slavery from Egypt to modern times. They are not Israel. Let that marinate. We have allowed the history of Israel to be smothered. Joel 3 3 is speaking of slavery. How boys and girls were sold on the common market, traded for vile pleasure and alcohol. If you research the Transatlantic slave trade you will find slaves were often traded for wine, rum and other alcoholic drink. Don 't you think it 's high time we got this right and made a stand for keeping Scripture in context as God would have had us do. Perhaps the churches would not be so ignorant today concerning so many things and using Scripture for so many illustrations that have nothing to do with what God intended.
