When we begin to pray in earnest for family and friends; it feels weird. We don't have confidence in our abilities. Satan doesn't want you to pray! Fight against FEELINGS. The first consideration is the realization that one of God's greatest desires is the salvation of all mankind. God's desire is clearly stated.
The Great Commission in Matthew 28:19 says, Go therefore and make disciples of all nations.
This is good, and it is pleasing in the sight of God our Savior, who desires all people to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth (1 Timothy 2:3-4).
It is God's desire that all should be saved. He loves you so much that He gave His one and only son as a ransom to pay for our sins.
Overcoming Spiritual Blindness & Deafness.
We should, we must, pray for the Salvation of others. What we are doing is asking God to move in their lives. Jesus said that He came to "seek and to save the lost" (Luke 19:10). Jesus does the seeking and the Holy Spirit opens their heart. If you want to see someone's heart healed and their eternal future secured, you must be praying. Pray helps open the door to Jesus. Jesus taught that we "ought always to pray and not lose heart" (Luke 18:1).
Turn off all the media, so we can pray and hear The Holy Spirit.
If it is God's desire that all should be saved, then why are so many people still unsaved? 2 Corinthians 4:4 tells us the god of this world [the devil] has blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them.
