Wesley's Notes for James 3:2

3:2 The same is able to bridle the whole body - That is, the whole man. And doubtless some are able to do this, and so are in this sense perfect.

People's Bible Notes for James 3:2

James 3:2 For in many things we offend all. All are liable to stumble and make mistakes.

These can hardly be excused in the teacher.

We are to realize that words are powerful, they are seeds sown in the hearts and minds of the hearer they can make or destroy the recipient. Therefore if our words edifices or minister grace to the hearer then we are walking in maturity.
