I was doing my own study of one of the ten commandments;the one that talks about honer thy father and mother. After further studies I understand that the word honer was referencing to more than just respect and obedience, when it has mostly to do with taking their consultation and making their life easier as they age. By doing so we were promised a long fulfilled life. Basically Take care of your Parents While God takes care of Us All. That is what the Holy spirit gave me

Hello. I hope you find these verses helpful in your questions.

If you believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, then you are saved. You cannot lose your salvation.

Romans 3:23...For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;

2 Timothy 2:15...Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.

Read the KJV Bible, pray, and go to Church.

Ephesians 4...21..If so be that ye have heard him, and have been taught by him, as the truth is in Jesus: 22.That ye put off concerning the former conversation the old man, which is corrupt according to the deceitful lusts; 23.And be renewed in the spirit of your mind; 24.And that ye put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness. 25.Wherefore putting away lying, speak every man truth with his neighbour: for we are members one of another. 26.Be ye angry, and sin not: let not the sun go down upon your wrath: 27.Neither give place to the devil.

I believe you're referring to Elijah & not Gideon (1 Kings 19:18). We're not told who those 7,000 were in Israel, but that was a large enough number of people to convince Elijah that he was not the only one left who honoured God & not bowed to Baal.

The dictionary definition, which is similar to the meaning in the Greek, is: unrestrained sexual behaviour, or an inclination to such behaviour; lustfulness, lewdness.

Good morning Nicole, it was so nice to see your note this morning! I'm very happy that you were encouraged. Like I said, I know how hard it is to get out of the hole, or the rut that we can get into.

And yes, I've been there, and depressed many times. Did you know that there were other Christians and God fearing people in the Bible who suffered from depression? There really was. So you're not alone.

As far as the old hymns go, like I said they really have done a wonderful job of ministering to my hurting soul. One of my favorite places to go to listen to them on YouTube is the SE Samonte channel. They're mainly acapella which I love, and they sing many many old hymns. They have beautiful outdoor scenery in the wilderness with the songs, they include the lyrics and usually at the end of each song they put a King James Bible scripture on. I'll just have to say right up front that it is a Mormon channel, and I am not Mormon nor do I advocate Mormonism. Simply put I am a King James Bible believer. The way I see it, as long as I am just there for the music, that's okay.

Quite frankly, as a King James Bible believer, I realized a number of years ago there is no Bible for denominations! I can't remember the exact scripture but it goes something like this... One saith I am of apollos, another I am of paul, another I am of Jesus, and it should not be so! I'm paraphrasing of course.

I've got to get rolling now, I'm actually a truck driver and getting ready to head out of Nebraska and heading to Utah!

The Lord bless you and keep you, the Lord make his face to shine upon you! Have a beautiful day Nicole!

With love, Mama Linda

Romans 10:9-10 is how you can get saved.

If you're truly sorry, God has already forgiven you. But it's also important to forgive yourself. If you were already saved years ago there's no need to be saved a second time; that's what Jesus died on the cross for.

As long as you sincerely ask God for forgiveness he will forgive you. For His mercy endureth forever.

Chris's comment on 2020-11-16 22:01:11:

That's a very sad situation Carl, one in which not a lot can be done since your great grandchildren are probably still subject to their parents instructions & guidance. I have a niece & nephew that no longer communicate with my wife & me because of their parents filling them with matters untrue. As their children, though now adults in their 30s, they still follow what they believe to be true & probably don't want to 'rock the (family) boat'. So it has been very sad as we have not been able to have any input into their lives especially with Christian teaching, to which we believe they are deprived & destitute.

We nevertheless don't cease to pray for them, committing their lives to the Lord Who alone is able to help them, counsel them & indeed, put in their hearts to get in touch with us again. We long for that day, just as you & your wife remain hopeful. You can only commit this matter to the Lord that both the hearts of your grand & great grand children will be touched & to learn of the truth about your genuineness & ongoing love for them. Are you able to talk to your children to learn more of this & if they are willing to mediate between you & their children? How do your children understand this situation? Even if a very personal letter from you to your great grand children can be sent through an intermediary, it may go some way to let them know of your feelings for them & may hit a 'nerve' of understanding & love from them.

However, if they don't really know you because of this estrangement being so long, then they might well say, "but we don't know who you are". The Lord can overrule - like in everything we face in life, we have to be cast completely upon Him & He will do what is right & in His time. I pray that your faith may increase & that you may find Christ's joy in spite of your circumstances.

Carl Gunderson's comment on 2020-11-16 15:00:28:

Our grandson and wife are keeping us from seeing our great grandchildren because of words exchanged six months ago. We apologized but that's not good enough. When mention of children respecting their elders, they say it goes both ways. It really has nothing to do with letter of apology. We really don't know what to think any more or to do.

Cynthia Thomas's comment on 2015-04-02 13:10:03:

I believe just what the word says, but I do have a question. Are there biblical conditions that regulate these relationships?

Ayindesoji's comment on 2014-12-21 01:33:56:

It is good to give honour to old age and even to every man. Question. WHAT HAPPEN TO THOSE WHO ARE NOT GIVE HONOUR TO THEIR PARENTS?

amen jay's comment on 2014-12-01 04:31:48:

Is a command from GOD that we should honour our parents, honour is almost like love,it does go way beyond our parents just as we should love all as our self sameway we honour everyone

Roseline Igboh's comment on 2014-12-01 00:50:05:

How to honour our parents which was the first commendment of our Lord Jesus Christ to us, honour whose in the authority so that our days will be long.
