Integrity, faith and courage stood as the bedrocks for Daniel. He could not imagine himself betraying his heritage and person he knew his God and could not give an inch to cowardice because of "cares ". That 's the true spirit of religious sportsmanship.

The faith of these youths was made instrumental in overrulling the evil foretold against the Jews Ezekiel 4:13 to the glory of God. Like Moses, Daniel chose rather to suffer affliction with the people of God, than to enjoy the pleasure of sin for a season ' ' Heb. 11 :25 To stand alone in your piety among this perverse generation, Beloveth, you really need faith which is unflinching. A faith which is solidly rooted in God 's word a faith like that of Daniel when he refuse the delicacies from the royal kitchen, I quit admit that he was sure that his health was obviously at stake. We shouldn 't place our walk with God by people 's opinion. Bible said ' 'But Daniel made up his mind not to... ' ' it being proposed to him to be brought up in the manner before described, he revolved it in his mind he well weighed it, and considered it with himself, and came to a resolution about it. As heir of God, we shouldn 't in any sense try to pamper nor accommodate it. Great Matthew Henry, in his concise commentary to this verse, he said ' '...it is easier to keep temptation at a distance, than to resist it when near ' '. You may be Holy Ghost filled, but I must tell you, sin can break resistance. This is the more reason why you shouldn 't give place to the devil Ephisians 4:27 . The same reason was why Joseph had to flee ' ' for is dear spiritual life, because he knew that it was sin and he can 't stand before it. Everyday, we must make this prayer of David as our devotional prayer: take away my lust for evil things don 't let me want to be with sinners, doing what they do, sharing their dainties - Psalm 141:4 Blessings and Peace!

The Bible says after 10 days, these men were filled with wisdom and understanding. Can we keep ourselves from defiling for 10 days?

Stephen K. Smith's comment on 2014-11-28 17:47:05:

This bible verse contains the mystery of standing for godliness and sanctity, "but Daniel " this means someother youths were there who obliged the offer and went on to be defiled. Daniel didn 't just make the decision from his lips, he settled it in His heart, he thought about it, just like joseph who thought how he would do a wicked thing against his master aNd sin against God. He carefully weighed the consequences of the offer been laid on the table. It was a clear strategy by the devil to rid the young lads daniel and the other fellows of the glory they had attained in the training, because they were said to have been trained in wisdom sciences etc. Imagine the devil giving you a ticket to defile your estate. Daniel had to boldly tell the eunuch, " I am not going to defile myself ". He chose to say NO, we must ask for the grace to walk away from sin and defilement, because Sin stinks and sinks destinies. Peace

DAVID O. JACOB's comment on 2013-09-08 00:40:36:

WELL DANIEL DETERMINED NOT TO DEFILE HIMSELF BASE ON HOW HE SAW HIMSELF IN GOD SIGHT. HE SAW HIMSELF AS HOLY SEED AND WHEN HE GOT TO THE STRANGE LAND HE KEPT HIMSELF FROM ANYTHING THAT DEFILED. THERE ARE A LOT OF THINGS AROUND US TODAY THAT DEFILE WHICH A GOOD CHRISTIAN MUST KEEP HIMSELF FROM. THOSE THINGS MAY SEEM INNOCENT BUT THEY POSSESS WHAT CAN DEFILE AND SEPARATE MEN FROM GOD.

David Russell's comment on 2013-08-04 22:46:45:

There was a reason why God favored these four men. They took a stand for God. The verse in the Bible which says 'Man shall not live by bread alone' was being practiced here. These men held God higher than anything else and thus God lifted them up higher than anyone in that land.

Toni's comment on 2013-06-27 17:07:56:

Daniel "purposed in his heart"... this is where it begins - in the heart. He made a conscious decision that he would not go as the world went and sin. It didn't matter that he was in a foreign place, Daniel made the choice to stand for the Lord God Almighty and keep the ways that pleased the Lord by not partaking of the idoloters' ways. We too have to come to that place and have that same determination, that we can't walk in the way of the world or partake in the sinful things that so many others partake in. It starts in our hearts. Each person who seeks God's grace and mercy, must have a heart to love Him and to please Him by seeking His Son Jesus - the way the truth and the life. Jesus is the Son of the living God and by Him we are saved.

Ifeoma Obilor's comment on 2013-06-10 07:16:23:

This was an opportunity for God to prove Himself to the world through His chosen four. Daniel had a strong enough faith even as a child to put God to the test. Do You??

This scripture tellls us the integrity that Daniel had. It shows us that wr can't compromise even when the world thinks its the best, we have to stick to what God knows is best for us.
