This is the Father acknowledging and glorifying the Son. The Gospels, in referring to His baptism speak of a "voice fromn heaven"; the "excellent glory" seems to be in line with the Son's thoughts of the Father: "I have glorfied thee on the earth ...". (John 17). The bible is true in its entirety simply because mortal man simply does not have the imagination or the powers of expression to make this up. Praise His Name; Hallelujah.
