I enjoyed reading the comments. In Thessalonians Paul 's heart reaches out to God 's people. His hope is to keep them in faith. Faith is a gift from God. It is given to help us to trust God. Paul understood the gift of faith, it was faith that kept him confident and strength to continue God 's mission. Jesus said, " No one comes to me unless the Father draws him. " The Father searches the heart and when he sees that someone believes in His Son, he draws them to receive Jesus. Jesus said, " You did not choose me, I chose you. " Paul learned to trust God the Father in the Lord Jesus Christ, and it helped Paul to learn to be content no matter his state. Hebrew 11:6 He who comes to Him must believe that He is, and that He is the re-warder of them that diligently seek me, but without Faith it is impossible to please him. God 's word must be looked at closely to determine where we sin against Him. But if we ask for forgiveness He is Just to forgive us our sins. What is Faith? Trust

I have fallen into this trap and want to get out. Even demonic emotions that is trying to eat me up like bitterness and poison of my soul. I want and need deliverance. This terrifies me because my faith in God need to be increased and I look for love of God and others. I have gotten on the wrong path.

Today's idols are anything that turns our heart from serving God. Money, Facebook, husbands, wives, children, jobs, a position - are just some of the idols people are worshipping and don't even realize it. We have to turn away from things that take our minds and our hearts from the true and living God. We have to be like the Thessalonians and turn away from the idols and back to the true and living God. Things of the world don't bring true happiness - that can only come from the maker and creator.
