When one digs into 1 Jn 5:13, it really comes to life, not only as once saved, always saved by virtue of circular "locked-in-the-loop " logic, but because this believing and knowing we have eternal life is both continuous and at any present time in the Greek. The only way this can be possible is not in our weak flesh, but in our mind-spirit, which always continuously believes, no matter what our flesh tries to tell us to believe.

1 John 5:3 shows how wrong the Jehovah Witnesses are when they teach that one does not know whether one is saved until Resurrection day.

5:11 And this is the sum of that testimony, that God hath given us a title to, and the real beginning of, eternal life; and that this is purchased by, and treasured up in, his Son, who has all the springs and the fulness of it in himself, to communicate to his body, the church, first in grace and then in glory.
