Fwd:

Simon Peter, a servant and an apostle of Jesus Christ, to them that have obtained like precious faith with us through the righteousness of God and our Saviour Jesus Christ:

Grace and peace be multiplied unto you through the knowledge of God, and of Jesus our Lord,

According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue:

Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.

And beside this, giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue; and to virtue knowledge;

And to knowledge temperance; and to temperance patience; and to patience godliness;

And to godliness brotherly kindness; and to brotherly kindness charity.

For if these things be in you, and abound, they make you that ye shall neither be barren nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.

But he that lacketh these things is blind, and cannot see afar off, and hath forgotten that he was purged from his old sins.

Wherefore the rather, brethren, give diligence to make your calling and election sure: for if ye do these things, ye shall never fall:

For so an entrance shall be ministered unto you abundantly into the everlasting kingdom of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. (2 Peter 1:1-11)

How can I become a man of GOD

Fred e Scanlan's comment on 2020-11-08 17:35:32:

I love your words. They are indeed the essence of faith. A "feeling" is much different , than from "knowing" Him. I'm thinking that new comers feel defeated when they fail. Christ expects us to ask for forgiveness. He is faithful and just to forgive our sins.

Fear actually paralyses faith and makes it inactive. Therefore we have to step out by faith and drop off every trace of unbelief an fear.

"For God hath not given us a spirit of fear; but of power, and of a love, and of a sound mind". 2 Tim 1:7

Happiness John's comment on 2013-10-17 01:34:21:

Jn.14:15 says, if you love me keep my commandment.
The only way one can be perfect in love is by keeping or obeying God's commandment, reading the scripture, singing songs of praises to God, pleasing God with your daily services, and been prayerful always. A feeling of glad any time you do some good or pleasant, that is the presents of the spirit of God in a man.
Then, the spirit of God in you will automatically tell you, you don't have reason to fear any circumtances.

My anxiety and panic was coming from a rejection of myself for having it. This verse freed me from it. Self hatred or rejection of parts of self cause fear. Give yourself the same respect and love you give to others. Love yourself, than you can love others.

Gitta's comment on 2013-08-19 09:56:18:

God is perfect love.
The more of Him you get filled up with then the fear must leave.
You get filled up with Him by reading the christian Bible, fellowshipping with like-minded believers, singing songs to Him, talking with Him through out the day.
Fears will be replaced by Jesus (perfect love).

Thomas's comment on 2013-07-17 11:11:46:

GOD is love. The love towards GOD reaches to HIM and the same love returns to our soul in perfect form in divine nature anointed by HIS HOLY SPIRIT. Such love cast out fear from a person.

david's comment on 2013-07-15 17:42:57:

When we come to know him who is love we are absorbed into his love and have perfect confidence.

Komolafe jeremiah's comment on 2013-03-01 05:50:36:

There is no fear in love. Perfect love casts out fear. This is because fear punishes and defrauds us but love rewards us with blessings. There is no reason to fear in demonstrating perfect love because he that loves abides in God and has God's backing/defense. Demonstrating perfect love (i.e. loving one another) is an act of obedience to God's commandment and whoever obeys or hearkens to God's voice shall dwell in safety, no evil shall befall him.

Brady's comment on 2012-03-04 10:05:29:

I would say that this is a state of mind that none save christ himself was able to achieve consistently his whole life. Perfect love is available in knowing and talking with god daily. He will guide you and help cast out the fear. God is perfect love

How do I become perfect in love so that fear will no longer be apart of my daily life?
