Rev Tim George's comment on 2021-02-09 01:50:32:

This verse is talking about how hoping and waiting for the return of Christ in the epiphany to call us to heaven, we purify ourselves as we are being purified by the blood of Jesus on the Cross. The Holy Spirit sanctifies us daily as we read the word and pray to Jesus our Mediator. Blessed are the pure in heart for they shall see God. Purity comes through faith in the Lord Jesus Christ and it is our faith that justifies us as though we never sinned. Just as Abraham believed God and it was accounted unto him for righteousness. This is the same faith that purifies us as we wait on the return of Christ for the Church. So beloved now are we the sons of God and it does not appear what we shall be, but when Christ appears we shall be like Him pure and holy.

For Robert and whosoever...Beloved brother, how can we do anything that the Word of God commands? Some followers of Christ asked this question in John 6:28. What must we do to do the works of God? in the next verse, the Lord answers, 'This is the work of God, that ye believe on Him Whom He hath sent. ' It 's by faith, brother. In Acts 15:8-9, talking about the Jews ' and the Gentiles ' part in the Lord 's salvation, it says in verse 8 that God does this by His Spirit, and in verse 9, purifying their hearts by faith. It 's not by our power or might, because as you 've said, there 's no good in us, it is by His Spirit. How we must purify ourselves is by prayer, because the faith that God gives us causes us to pray. That 's our part. The work of the Cross is indeed a finished work and it 's only by His Blood, but as we believe, we pray and we read the Word, because this is faith in action. It 's constant repentance, turning to Him in faith, calling on Him to help us to pray and read His Word. We are justified by faith, but we are continuously being sanctified by abiding in His Word and prayer, because this is how we walk with Him. We see this in John 13 where Peter tells the Lord that He must not wash his feet, and the Lord says, If I wash thee not, thou hast no part with me. We must experience this ongoing work of sanctification every day. We do this by continuing in His Word and prayer.

purification come from heart and the bible says let this mine be in you which was in Christ Jesus ' , another scripture says the kingdom of God is within you and so what ever your heart condemn is bad.

I think, a Christian can purify himself because in the book of Ephesians 1, the Bible declares that we have the fullness of God, and again the Bible says greater is He Jesus that dwellth in me than He that dwellth on de world, with this oness with Christ i believe one can actually adify and purify himself.

I m a believer, but how can a man purify himself.Jesus said no man is good ,not even one.I believe the lords work on the cross is the only way to be pure.I don t think man can do it on his own.
