Paula Roberts, Acts20:7 is the earliest pattern of meeting to break bread, the first day of the week, long before there was a vatican. An individual can worship God at any time, but the body of believers, gathered together, should follow the pattern established by the apostles and early disciples, seen here in scripture.

If you are influenced by Adventist teaching, it may be justification by works that is causing the pushback. Following the Bible is not the way to heaven, knowing Christ has paid for all your sins is the only way. If you ever think you can be good enough, that's wrong.

The Sabbath/rest for Christians is throughly discussed by Paul in Hebrews 3&4. In particular, Heb.4:11, that is, a rest from our efforts to obtain salvation by our own works. What are you going to offer to God, that would add to the work of his son on the cross??? To offer anything is to diminish his ability to save you by his grace.

Israel/the world, was under the law(a schoolmaster Galatians 3:24 & 25) to bring them to Christ. The Church is by grace. Romans 6 There are many so called churches that confuse the distinctions between Israel and the Church, Adventists being only one.

ALL the work of salvation was done by Christ. You are saved, if you believe/trust him alone. 1Cor.15:3&4, Romans 10:9,10,11

Hello again Claire, thank you for your Bible references:

Genesis 4:1 Take note of who is saying "I have gotten a man from the Lord". It is Eve, the one who had already been beguiled by the serpent, so we know she was capable of getting things wrong. In one sense, she was correct; in that all life comes from the Lord as creator of heaven and earth and He created life with a reproductive seed principle. She does not state who is the father, merely that she has gotten a man. Note also that Adam did not "know" Eve a second time before Eve gave birth to Able. Twins in the womb from different fathers is what is being recorded here. A biological event that has since been proven to be possible. Note also why Adam called the woman Eve: it was because she was the mother of all living. Nowhere does the Bible say that Adam was the father of all living. In fact, much scripture indicates that Adam was not.

Sorry, I don't understand the reasons for quoting 1 Corinthians 14:33 and 2 Timothy 3:16 in this particular context.

The reasons for 1John 3:12 are all there in Genesis

Hello Claire

Thank you for your reply and I appreciate your comments. I guess we take a different view over what is biblical and what is not... and that's ok, so long as we earnestly contend for THE FAITH that was once delivered unto the saints. Jude 1:3.

The fact that there are children of God and children of the devil is clear wherever I read in the Bible, so that much is Biblical. It's all about predestination: Cain/Able, Jacob/Esau (Rom 9:13 As it is written, Jacob have I loved, but Esau have I hated) Jesus Christ/Judas Iscariot.

Jesus chose his words carefully in Mat 23:33. He knew precisely to whom he was speaking. Consider also 2Pet2 and Jude 1:10 and think about those brute beasts made to be taken and destroyed. How were they made and why? There are many other examples in the Bible that should prove to the reader the fact of two predestinated groups, one ordained to life, the other, much larger in number, destined for the lake of fire. We have a just and loving God. He is interested only in His own children, the children of the devil have their purpose in time but not in eternity.

Understanding the "mechanics" of how it all came about as part of God's master plan of being a saviour is wonderful to a true child of God. The two "lines" didn't come about by eating apples or any other botanical fruit. No, please read the early chapters of Genesis again... there's more to learn of the truth there.

Hi Roy,

I have heard that story about Satan being Cain's father but it's not biblical.

Genesis 4:1

And [Adam knew Eve his wife; and she conceived, and bare Cain], and said, I have gotten a man from the LORD.

1 Corinthians 14:33

For God is not the author of confusion, but of peace, as in all churches of the saints.

2 Timothy 3:16

All scripture [is] given by inspiration of God, and [is] profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:

God bless you and your family.

Kind Regards

Claire

I don't think God put these commandments in the Bible by accident. God does [everything] for a reason. I have asked Jesus into my heart & repented for my sins, but I'm not 100% sure that I'm saved because I'm still sinning. I'm going to try & cure my carnal heart by following all your steps & seeing if I feel any different. Thank you for sharing these steps in this thread.

God bless you & your family.

Kind Regards

Claire

Hi David W Black,

page 1

I agree that Cain inherited his sinful nature from Adam. Before Adam & Eve ate from the tree of knowledge of good & evil they knew no sin because they were made in the image of God. It was only after they ate from the tree that they new good & evil.

Jesus is our role model on how we [should] live. [If] it was [impossible] for us to [sin no more] then Jesus wouldn't of commanded us to [do] it.

John 5:14 Afterward Jesus findeth him in the temple, and said unto him, Behold, thou art made whole: [sin no more], lest a worse thing come unto thee.

John 8:11 She said, No man, Lord. And Jesus said unto her, Neither do I condemn thee: go, and [sin no more].

1 John 5:3 For this is the love of God, that we [keep] his commandments: and his commandments are not grievous.

John 15:10 [If] ye [keep] my commandments, ye [shall] abide in my love; even as I have [kept] my Father's commandments, and abide in his love.

1 John 2:3 And hereby we do know that we know him, [if] we [keep] his commandments.

Leviticus 22:31 Therefore shall ye [keep] my commandments, and [do] them: I am the LORD.

John 14:15 [If] ye love me, [keep] my commandments.

Leviticus 26:3 [If] ye walk in my statutes, [and keep] my commandments, and [do] them;

Numbers 15:40 That ye may remember, and [do] [all] my commandments, and [be holy] unto your God.

Deuteronomy 5:29 O that there were such an heart in them, that they would fear me, [and keep all] my commandments [always], that it might be well with them, and with their children for ever!

Proverbs 7:2 [Keep] my commandments, and [live]; and my law as the apple of thine eye.

Exodus 20:6 And shewing mercy unto [thousands] of them that [love me], [and keep] my commandments.

Deuteronomy 5:10 And shewing mercy unto [thousands] of them that [love me] [and keep] my commandments.

Deuteronomy 11:27 A blessing, [if] ye [obey] the commandments of the LORD your God, which I command you this day.

David W Black's comment on 2020-10-17 17:39:25:

Sorry there but you're off on an incorrect line of thinking. Cain was still Adam's son. Cain's murder of his brother was a manifestation of his carnal heart that he inherited from daddy, that is Adam. Carnality is why you parents do not spend time teaching your children to misbehave but to correct wrong behavior. Yet they still learn to lie, steal, hate, and etc. Typically children just naturally know how to be dishonest. They were born that way because they were born carnal.

There is a cure for that carnal heart. Step 1 is to be saved from committed sin through the prayer of repentance. Step 2 is to offer yourself to God by being sanctified, assuming you've not sinned since repentance, which is required of all to cease the sinning now on Earth. You'll need to ask Him to remove the carnal nature and to fill you with the Holy Ghost. That is the cure, how to stop sinning. Each person needs to be saved from committed and inherited sins, or you die lost.

Cain was of that wicked one the serpent. He was the child of the serpent. Adam was the Son of God and we know that God is not wicked. That can only mean that the serpent had intercourse with eve thus producing cain with all the ungodly manifestations that his father (the devil) had.

Thankyou for this Wisdom from the Lord Yahweh God.. in Chronicles Ch 1 Verse 1.. The line of Jesus Christ via Adam...It omits Cain from that Line.. and Cain went on to have children... and in Genesis that Line is noted in Detail... for good reason. To Identify that Line of Satan

This scripture is what it is. Biblical truth and proof. But I noticed how it shines as a bright light before many who have been in darkness for so long that they cannot stand to see the light. This verse make many people angry, very angry and I believe that those that are of God embrace this scripture because we seek the truth. Thank you God for your truth that you have given us.
