I am looking for a Bible study group in my area I live in the Los Angeles area and if anyone would like to start a Bible study group I am praying Jesus will help us , I am ashamed that I have not been actively obedient or disciplined enough to regularly study my Bible so if you can pray for me pray that I find brothers and sisters in Jesus that I can study with together.

God bless and thank you

If you will go to the Search Box on the Red Link Page

Type in BEGAT, it will fetch 5 pages of Geneologies.

Go to the actual books and chapters to see complete lists.

MENE, MENE, TEKEL, UPHARSIN

MENE, God has numbered the days of your kingdom and brought it to an end;

TEKEL, you have been weighed ... and found wanting;

PERES, your kingdom is finished...

Hi

Thank you yes I have turned to Jesus and God and repented for my sins. I however have autism which causes me great anxiety and wanting to do things right of that makes sense. I have looked for bible studies online and have found one which should help me.

Sarah McCarthy's comment on 2021-03-18 10:22:30:

Hi

No by that I mean that I mean I have repented for my sins and that I believe in God and his son Jesus Christ and that I believe Jesus died for our sins etc. Yes I'm also going to be following the 10 commandments. I have autism so my main thing is anxiety of getting things wrong as I want to live right by God

Sarah,

When some people say that they have turned their life to God, they mean that they are trying to do better, go to church more often, give more to charities to help poor people, read their Bible more, stop smoking, stop getting drunk, stop getting angry with people, etc.

Those attempts have some merit, but that's NOT how you turn your life to God.

"For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;"Rom 3:23

We do and if a we are honest with ourselves and with God, we realize that we fall far short of Perfection.

"For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord."Rom 6:23

Sometimes we realize that our situation is dire, but if we die without Christ, it will be eternal living death. But because The Son of God became a man, suffered and died for your sins and mine, God offers a free gift to those who will turn from their sinful ways and put their trust in Jesus.

"For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast. For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them."Eph 2:8-10

God offers us grace if we have trust in God through Jesus Christ's death, burial and resurrection, by granting us salvation as a free gift that we don't have to work for. But what should happen when a person places that kind of active trust in God is that they will demonstrate a life of good works that results from God woking in them both to want to and to actually do things that please God.

Baptism is not a requirement for salvation. It is something that you ought to do when the time comes and it may come sooner than you think. If, God forbid, you get hit by a car and die before you're baptized, if you are trusting Jesus, you'll be with Him in heaven.

Jesse's comment on 2021-03-18 08:39:22:

Sarah,

I can only assume from your post that you have received Jesus Christ into your life as your Lord and Savior. If that is the case, then you have been baptized with God's Spirit. The baptism you are speaking of is water baptism. That does not save you. Being baptized by the Holy Spirit happens the moment you receive Christ. That is His ministry.

In Mark 1:8, John says I indeed have baptized you with water: but He (Jesus) shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost, the Holy Spirit.

This is one of the great verses in the bible. John is saying all I do is baptize with water. That is it. That is a tool. I have a message, but I don't baptize with the Holy Spirit, He does, the Messiah does!

Let me share with you this important information about the Lord's ministry:

The baptism of the Holy Spirit is the Lord's ministry. That is what He does. It is not an afterthought. And it's not somewhere down the road. When you are touched by, and saved by the Spirit of God, you are baptized in the Holy Spirit.

That is a Jewish term. So we have to understand it from a Jewish standpoint.

Paul himself said in first Corinthians Chapter 12 Verse 13, "For by one spirit are we all baptized into one body, whether we be Jews or Gentiles, whether we be bond or free, and have been all made to drink into one Spirit"

When you are baptized by the Holy Spirit, you are brought into the body of Christ. You are saved! When a person gets baptized in the Spirit, it represents the fact that the coming of God's Spirit into their spirit has cleansed them. You are clean. In your spirit, you are perfectly clean, because that's where Jesus dwells!

Water baptism can take place later on down the line. It does not impact your salvation at all. If you've received Christ, He has already baptized you with the baptism that has saved you!

As far as bible study, you can do that at home until places of worship and fellowship open back up.

So I've recently turned my life to God but because of this whole covid thing I won't be able to go to a bible studies etc. I'm also concerned that I won't be able to get baptised etc when the time comes. So what would happen then?

Darren Croft's comment on 2021-03-17 01:48:55:

Dawn,

Let's say satan impregnated Eve, don't you think satan would have chastised Jesus for eternity for being born of the devil? We would have heard much more about it, but we don't. Jesus would not have been able to overcome the grave without being of God.

S Spencer's comment on 2021-03-17 01:24:49:

Hi Dawn,

That's not all 2 Peter 3:8 says, watch closely, let's pick up around vs 3 thru vs 9. and get the context.

2 Peter 3:3-4, 8-9 (KJV) Knowing this first, that there shall come in the last days scoffers, walking after their own lusts,

And saying, Where is the promise of his coming? for since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning of the creation...5.....6......

8: But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day is with the Lord "AS" a thousand years, AND A THOUSAND YEARS "AS" ONE DAY...

Now if the first part of vs 8 makes a day an 1000 years, "very long" Then the other half of vs 8 makes a 1000 years an DAY! "very short" so calculating time using this vs would make a day fractions of a second!!

The setting here is God stands outside of time looking in.

The emphasis is on God's patience, not the length of a day.

Look below at verse 9

9: The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is LONGSUFFERING to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance. I Hope that helps

The Scriptures about the Godhead. Sometimes called "Let Us..." in some passages.

Genesis 1:26, 3:22, 11:7

Isaiah 6:8

Romans 1:20

Colossians 2:9

Acts 17:27-30

1 John 5:7

John 10:30

These are scriptures of when the 3 persons of the Godhead were speaking to each other.

I was taught that Adams name means, Man. Eve's name means, Man with a womb.

Adam and Eve were of flesh, soul and spirit up until they ate of tree. Then the spiritual connection was severed.

By being Born Again, Jesus restores that spiritual connection through the Holy Spirit who indwells us.

Dawn Elizabeth Dodgen's comment on 2021-03-16 22:07:25:

Adam and Eve weren't the first man and woman. Haven't you read the first chapter of Genesis? Gen. 1:26 - And God said, "Let Us make man in Our image, after Our likeness..."

Gen. 1:27 - So God created man in His own image...

6th day Man - (Hb.) adam (no article) = mankind

'eth-Ha' adam (WITH article) is the Adam, and then Eve, who God created on the 8th day, in which Christ, bellybutton to bellybutton comes from.

Also remember that 1 day of our Father is equal to 1,000 years for us (man). 2 Peter 3:8

Richard in Christ's comment on 2021-03-11 00:01:35:

Hello Jesse,

Thank you for that very kind, personal , and accurate reply. May the Lord Bless you while we complete our journey, for our Father, abiding in these mortal bodies. Peace be upon you!!

Jesse's comment on 2021-03-10 20:20:51:

Richard,

I read your post and I just want to say Amen! And thank you for using 1 Corinthians 14:22. I believe that to be the only verse in the bible that specifically tells us what tongues are for. And I also believe that the only place we see its proper use is in Acts Chapter 2.

They spoke in languages (Tongues) unknown to them but known by those who were hearing them speak. Those "tongues" were actual known languages. They had no clue what they were saying. But the ones who heard them understood. What a beautiful picture of God's Spirit in action. Those who heard them speak in tongues knew that they had no way of knowing their native languages, adding more power to what they were hearing had to be from God.

I personally have never spoken in tongues. But if I ever do, I hope it is the same as those in Acts Chapter 2, God's power working through me to witness the gospel message to someone in their language, perfectly, a language I do not know. And like you, I know I have God's Spirit living inside of me. And by knowing that, I find comfort in knowing that I lack nothing.

And when we talk about "gifts," I believe the only gift we are promised is the gift of the Holy Spirit. I believe that is the only gift we are all given. Everything else is just an expression of God's Spirit and His grace!

God Bless!!!

I think I understand you but Jesus prayed not my will but thine be done.

Then why is Cain's genealogy different than Adam's, and in John 8:44 Christ, speaking to the scribes and Pharisees, "Ye are of your father the devil.... he was a murderer from the beginning...."?

Cain, in God's Word, is the first murderer, in His Word.

Mike's comment on 2021-03-04 17:02:59:

Actually Cain is the son of Adam because Adam and Eve was the first man and woman ever to be created by God and because of their disobedience Cain and Abel his brother come into existence to know more about it reading the book of Genesis from the beginning will tell you everything

Mike's comment on 2021-03-04 16:52:18:

God said in his word ask and it shall be given you knock and the door shall be open seek and you shall find.If a evil man know how to give good gifts to his son well when you ask the Lord Jesus for something he will give it to you all you have to do is to obey the Lord and live by his word and anything you asked of him he will bless you with. And remember now we are children of the king our King is king of all Kings and Lord of all Lords and there is nothing impossible for him to do and also don't forget before we was formed in our mother's wom he knew us and before we was borned he laid the foundation down for us so he wants us to ask him for whatever we need but also don't forget Deuteronomy chapter 28 verse 1 tells us if we obey God and do as he command automatically we are blessed in everything we do but also God want us to pray and ask him for whatever we need but our prayer must be very sincere and remember now we can't fool God so if you are very sincere with your prey and you obey his word yes the Lord Jesus will give you what ever you ask of him.
