Psalm 23 is a complete verse of the bible. From the start to the finish.

Chris's comment on 2021-01-27 04:40:48:

You were nearly there :) Try Psalm 22:3. Though this refers to Israel yet it too is our experience, when we "offer the sacrifice of praise to God continually, that is, the fruit of our lips giving thanks to his name." (Hebrews 13:15).

Saint Loren's comment on 2021-01-27 04:07:27:

I have been taught that God inhabits our praise. As I get references tp Psalms 23:3 yet I can not find a translation that says that. Is there such a scripture?

Richard in Christ's comment on 2021-01-23 23:40:32:

Just some scripture stating that Jesus and the Father are two. John 8:

16 And yet if I judge, my judgment is true: for I am not alone, but I and the Father that sent me.

17 It is also written in your law, that the testimony of TWO men is true.

18 I am one that bear WITNESS of myself, and the Father that sent me beareth WITNESS of me.

Mike, "death is unreal" - Death is very real, in fact, there is a second death. Revelation 20:14 The first death is separation from the body/Earth, and the second is eternal separation from God and to the eternal torment. "The wages of sin is death" Romans 6:23 Very real, and nobody else in the scriptures had more to say about hell and damnation than Jesus.

Mike's comment on 2021-01-18 04:14:45:

Several years ago I had a wonderful revelation regarding the part of this psalm that was quite unexpected and never forgotten. I think I may have been struggling with some type of illness looking for inspiration. The valley of the SHADOW of death is ultimately harmless because it's just fear.....just another mist that must be seen through to understand it's NOTHINGNESS. There is no SUBSTANCE in a SHADOW so what the psalmist is actually saying is that death is unreal as is disease (dis-ease), sin, poverty (living a Godless life), etc. These are nothing more than false concepts which is what Jesus tried to teach. If he hadn't understood these false narratives as being false he wouldn't have been able to do the wonderous works that he achieved. GOD IS ALL.

Considering the topic of suicide, I concur with Linda.

We do not have all of the answers on this side of Heaven.

Let us not judge each other. God alone is our judge:

He knows far beyond what we could even imagine.

Linda's comment on 2020-11-03 06:01:12:

Suicide is murder but, whether that individual is sent to hell or not is totally up to GOD.The Father is very intelligent and knows the heart of one who commits suicide, as he knows the hearts of all of us. GOD takes into account of everything that lead the individual to self murder. His thoughts and ways are nowhere near ours, therefore we can't know what will happen to anyone who takes their own life. Our Father is righteous and fair and takes everything into consideration and I believe will judge accordingly

No. I learn something new every time I read the bible. Just keep reading again and again. Pray for understanding before you read and I think that will help.

Stephen Botts's comment on 2020-09-29 05:28:14:

In the Old Testament, when you see 'angel ( Angel) of the Lord', it is the preincarnate Christ, Jesus Himself. Unless otherwise named (as Gabriel in the book of Daniel).

Thanks Chris,

Your answer was spot on.

I can see you spend a lot of time reading and understanding what God's word is reviling to you.

I often tell my friends: Its not remembering the chapter and verse but what the chapter and verse places in your heart/soul.

Thanks again for your answer.

Dale

Dale, the Bible Trivia might be a fun thing to do & a test of your Bible knowledge, but please don't let it be a yardstick to determine your knowing God & His Will for your life. I think most of us would fail somewhere along the line as no one can be expected to know the content of all the Bible Books, chapters & verses. Some questions will be easy for you - others may find them difficult. I feel that it is a nice inclusion but rather, to drive us back into God's Word to learn more about Him, the world we live in & the needy people around us.

Knowing God's Will is a vast subject that can't be dealt with here. There are books on this subject, the one by J.I. Packer has been popular & useful. However, the only real way is to spend quality time reading the Bible slowly & carefully, talking to God about what you read & what burdens your heart. It is the work of the Holy Spirit to both teach you & to apply the Truths to your heart & life. As well, from my own experience, patience is another key. We live in a world that "wants it & wants it now" - the Spirit's Word & Timing for us is not regulated by our moods & our time clock. To correctly wait for help & direction, we must spend time understanding God's already revealed Will for us in His Word & to "Keep in step with the Spirit": surprisingly, another of Packer's publications!

The Angel that wrestled with Jacob was an angel. Not Jesus. The statement itself tells you it was a angel. Not a man and not Jesus.

Deborah Fields's comment on 2020-09-20 06:29:30:

No. the bible teach us not to forget symbol together in church which get us strength. A daily prays and reading the bible keep our mind stay on God. The church is the heart of man and that what take you to Heaven.

DALE E STAHLBERG's comment on 2020-09-20 05:41:48:

In taking the bible trivia and only getting between 60% correct most of the time shows I lack in my understanding of the bible.

I am a bit worried that I am not fully understanding of God will and following.

Should I be?

Daniel 12:12

"Blessed is he that waiteth, and cometh to the thousand three hundred and five and thirty days."

The Anti-Church for a period of time sacrificed true saints until she became sterile. It now has been around 450 years that the True Church was able to leave the wilderness and preach and teach (by example) the Gospel throughout the whole world.

I figured it out. They need to renew their hearts to get rid of the evil in their hearts to stop all the wars etc... do you know where in the Bible a Prayer May Be For That ???

Daveyann Hao's comment on 2020-07-26 23:32:20:

The Lord IS my Shepherd. Though I do walk through the valley of the shadow of death His word comforts and guides me to live in His paths. Though I've sinned He stores my soul and I live a righteous life because He leads me in paths of righteousness to honor Him. Therefore He blesses me abundantly so I can in return be a blessing to the Lord's people in a New Testament Missionary Baptist church where our pastor faithfully watches for our souls and guides us to watch faithfully for the Lord's soon return. Very blessed we are at Kailua Missionary Baptist church at Kalama in Kailua, Hawaii. Amen to Keoki's sermon today about watching out for false prophets. I have that too. I'm standing anchored against him.
