Too many words! "The kingdom of God is within " and without, and among , and everywhere---in a way it God IS every particle of matter atom, has no perceptible form, is INEFFABLE---incapable of being expressed in words. I once experienced "IT " as a dissolving ego structure---inner and outer were one as a feeling of complete wholeness oneness with everything---and incredible freedom and lightness, and ultra-happiness. The commonly used word "bliss " doesn 't quite describe the feeling perception I had. The dissolving of ego boundaries within oneself is ineffable, and has left me with perplexing questions with few answers. The Religious have intellectual explanations---too many words---The Psychologists, I think, are nearer to an understanding and explanation of the "within and without " experience of God 's Kingdom i.e.. REALM .

I agree with Roberts comments, that the spirit is in you and when gathered together within our midst among you. Could this be really talking about our spirits and not be anything physical. The Holy Spirit is 'indwelling '......so why ? Is this verse shutting down churches?

Apparently there is more than one interpretation of the Greek translation of the original word for within or in your our midst And of course we have no guarantee that the Greek version precisely represents the intention of the author which would have been Jesus speaking in his native language not Greek and recorded by another person perhaps many years afterwards So I have to look within myself to my spiritual self to provide a sense of what Jesus actually meant And my spiritual self says that the statement means that the kingdom of God is not a physical place but instead a spiritual place that lies within each of us Therefore The Kingdom of God is within you But it is also in your midst when you are gathered together to help each other know the truth Your spiritual self is present within the group

LUKE 17 : 21 means the expression does not make the pharisees members of the kingdom of God , but only sets before them the possibility of them being received into it. The kingdom of God is present in the heart and soul of every believer. "The kingdom is within you" is therefore a kingdom that has its throne in the heart, on which Christ , the king sits. It has to be formed by yielding our hearts to Christ

Apparently, the Pharisees expected the kingdom of God to be obvious and have a definate starting time. Jesus responded by saying, not so, but the kingdom of God is within / in your midst. The word "Kingdom" indicates the realm in which God's government and purposes are functioning; wherever God's righteousness and peace and joy in the Holy Ghost prevail (Rom. 14:17). According to Jesus' railing on the Pharisees' religion, He was most likely not saying they had God's kingdom in their hearts. I feel He meant the miracles of healing, deliverence from evil spirits, and good news that He taught was God's domain in their midst. Believers are now translated into the kingdom of the Son (Col. 1:13), but the full function of God's kingdom will be awsome. Lets press into it.
