Frederick, Jude here refers to a group of 200 angels who descended upon Mt. Hermon and took an oath between themselves, to defile humanity. Perhaps as part of Satan's attempt to foil GOD's plan of redemption.

They agreed to intermingle with women which resulted in the nephillim. This is what the spirit means when it refers to the "mighty men of old, men of reknown" mentioned in Genesis 6. The nephillim were 1/2 Man, 1/2 angel and were humongous and great in strength and became well known for their exploits. GOD put enmity between them and they set themselves against each other until they were all dead. All the greek "gods" and the titans were actually these nephillim.

When the fallen angels appealed to GOD for mercy HE sent Michael to place them in iron fetters and then placed them in Tartarus, the land of shadow, which we know also as the bottomless pit. They are there now awaiting judgment.

Jude here refers to them as examples of of the consequences of indulging the flesh and its lustful desires and willfully disobeying GOD.

I believe Jude 1:6 is saying when satan was removed from Heaven, those that believed in him, because he wanted the seat of GOD, satans angels believed they would become more powerful w him than w out him. KJV says RESERVED in everlasting chains, says they have a standing reservation under darkness. Not yet in that place of darkness, they roam w satan thru-out the world to deceive, under the direction of satan himself. Satan is only as powerful as GOD allows, so he needs all the assistance he can muster to do his damage. Don't believe satan has the power to be everywhere at the same time, as GOD can do, so he has a need for his angels. I don't believe satan as powerful as has been stated, as man- kind's weaknesses are probably greater. Satan's strengths come from man's weaknesses.

Where did they go, and what did they do?

This is deep and my spirit has not been able to rest on it,but it keep telling me to search more into the story of creation and it 's more to the war in heaven, satan and his fallen then we could ever know.

We all existed before this life as spirits (Jeremiah 1:5). The angels that kept not their first estate refers to the spirits that followed Satan in open rebellion against God (See Revelations 12:7-11 and also 1 Adam and Eve 5:7 and 55:7-15). Everyone on the earth kept our first estate, many of us fought against Satan to help defeat him, and this Earth life is our second estate. Satan failed, so he and his followers are executing a backup plan, which is to get as many of us as possible to not keep our second estate (Revelations 12: 17).

Ibelieve that God took aaway not only their habitation, but darkness is used to show their knowledge and understanding wa removed. Had satan kept his knowledge and wisdom he would never have crucified Christ. To me chains under darkness means without understanding of God's plans and his Church.

if on the day of judgement when God destroys the earth and heavens and creates knew ones, and the wicked and all that is on earth is burned to ashes and is NO MORE then why will there be wailing and gnashing of teeth?
