God is a spirit singular denoted here, duet.6 4 Here o Israel, the Lord our God is one Lord. One here is echad in Heb. denotes one in number, not a compound unity that the Strong 's concordance emphatically suggest.

God is a Spirit. This is the Father by Himself. You cannot see Him but He can manifest Himself into what ever He wants. He did manifest Himself in the form of a Human in Jesus Christ our Lord. Yet He is small enough We can receive Him as a gift in baptism. His Spirit replaces the tables of Stone the 10 Commandments which is Gods total Righteousness and His Eternal Law is written in our hearts and minds. Upon obedience to the gospel of Jesus and Repentance, we receive three of the greatest gifts known to all of Mankind. 1 the remission of sin 2 the gift of the Holy Spirit and 3 we are added to His congregation of believers. Heb.10

I totally agree with the commentaries on Jhn 4:24. The thing here is that, it is the Lord Himself The Son, who knows The Father, has seen The Father, is sent of The Father and is one with The Father who is commanding or giving us instructions as to the acceptable way in which God is to be worshiped. All that is required of us is total obedience to His revealed will in order for us to be 'true worshipers '.If we are true worshipers then that places us in His presence. And if in His presence then our goal is not a too distant reality. We then should ask guide God for the fortifying providence of His Holy Spirit so that He finds us daily to be worthy of worshiping Him in His presence.

God is a spirit...... God a spirit. A spirit is a form that is in the true image and likeness of God. This is what was created in the 1st account of creation in Genesis chapter 1.

Jeus said unto Nicodemus,in (John3:6-7) That which is born of the flesh is flesh;and that which is born of the spirit is spirit.
Marvel not that I said unto thee,Ye must be born again.John 4:24 Jesus declares to the Samaitan woman. God is a spirit; They that worship Him must worship Him in spirit and in truth.
Must place an obligation or mandate, not optional, there is no benefit if it is not done in the spiritand in truth. Genesis (3:3-5)shows us how we should worship God with respect, humility, sincerety, honor and reverence Him. God did not have respect for Cain and his offering. It was not offered as worship. But unto Abel, God had respect unto Abel and his offering. Therefore, worship is very spiritual and makes connection with God. The nature of worship involves submission, with the whole soul, mind, feelings, emotions and desires. Worship involves a launching out into the deep so when you let that net down for that draw it is so great, you have no desire to come to where it is shallow. The Psalmist declares, deep rcalleth unto deep at thy water spout. Worship in spirit and in truth reveals the mind of God to His people.

Complete the introit GOD is a spirit

Stanley's comment on 2013-05-27 10:34:38:

Without a shadow of doubt,GOD is a Spirit;but He is so much more.We then who are born of His spirit must "learn" to worship in spirit and in truth,it's not automatic as many would proclaim to believe. The apostle Paul in phil.4:11...says "...for I have "learned" in whatever state I am to be content: whoever then does not is only fooling themselves. True worship is "learned" through the Word of GOD (JESUS)and by the leading of the HOLY SPIRIT. As we submit to this truth we then become vessels fit for the Master's use as we walk by faith and not by sight.

Rene's comment on 2011-12-06 23:37:35:

i believe it means that worship is a STATE OF BEING and not a boring physical ceremony which is performed every once in a while (Saturday?, Sunday?)inside a building (church, TEMPLE, TABERNACLE, WHAT HAVE YOU). Worship means submission and you get into that mode once you submit your all to the Lord Jesus Christ. Worship starts at salvation and is supposed to be eternal. You miss the point entirely if you think you're going to church to worship. God does not live there any more! He has transferred residence. He now lives in you. You don't go to church to worship. you go to church because you already are in a worship mood. No need to get your emotions up with special numbers and other ceremonial things done in the temple. Ever notice that there is no command in the new testament that enjoins the christian to worship? Only the devil was told "thou shalt worship the Lord they God". it would be redundant for the writers to be telling the christian to do something they are already immersed in. we come to church for a different purpose, and that is, " not to forget the assembling of ourselves together" so we can take care of one another's burdens, physical or spiritual

This scripture is key to understanding the bible.
We must worship God with spirit & truth! In order for our faith to be true to god it must be totally truthful.. remember what the apostle Paul said- Do you not know that a little leaven ferments the whole lump?
The bible speaks of babylon the great in Revelation. It was a great city dedicated to hundreds of false religious worship alacart...
What we see today in many religions is a counterfit belief system that incorporates many aspects of babylonish and Pagan teachings and philosophies of man. Such as CHRISTMAS, EASTER, THE TRINITY, HELLFIRE, IMMORTALITY OF THE SOUL....to mention a few.....All of these teachings are false or counterfeit. If you dont believe me just do your own research on all of these subjects and see for yourself....The truth will set you free!! If you really want to learn the truth I can direct you at trekker1@netzero.net

God is A spirit, therefore he is a being as we are created in his image. Human beings are a reflection of God, in order to have an image there would have to be a form or a being to reflect. God has a form He is not just simply spirit as the new versions are printing.
