Notice that the verse reads plural for those that bless Israel and then singular for him that curses Israel? Anyone have thoughts on that?

Here it appears that God initiates a covenant with mankind. Through Abram, either God's blessing or His curses will be delivered. Even today this relationship remains through Jesus, the Christ.
