Mr Gee you know your stuff ! Thankyou for sharing your conviction ,which is grounded in the Bible ,The Word Of God not the tube of you or the net of inter or the pastor of ego .

Mr Gee's comment on 2021-05-18 13:43:07:

Yes surely missionaries are apostles, but I am referring to the office of an apostle not the definition of apostle.

5 Fold to start the church read your scriptures.

3 fold now the office of prophets and apostles is found today in THE WORD OF GOD.

The WORD is the foundation or should be the foundation for any true church

If you feel you need to here from some modern day prophet or apostle you are mistaken.

Heaven and earth will pass away but my WORD will live forever

Eph 2:20 Apostles and Prophets are foundation

Foundation is put down once

CHRIST is the HOLY SPIRIT if you read Colossians Chap 1 "Christ in You!"

And HE is the Chief Cornerstone

This is the era for evangelists , pastors and teachers

The Unity of the FAITH is the WORD of GOD

We now have a complete bible not letters here and there

This is what leads to not being TOSSED by every wind of DOCTRINE

The BIBLE is the STANDARD

Perhaps you should stop reading so many other books and just stick to scripture

Perhaps you will than be able to RIGHTLY divide the WORD of TRUTH

No other documents are needed just the bible

Line upon line precept upon precept

If you rely on some other person to lead you to the truth you are greatly mistaken

What does FOUNDATION mean to you?

I am not talking about missionaries.

I am talking about the men GOD CHOSE, CALLED and gave power to.

To not only do signs and wonders but who wrote the very words of the New Testament

These were special messengers with a divine calling.

A season for everything under the sun.

Do you think Until we all come to the Unity of the faith means for eternity?

Because if you have not checked there are over 4000 different faiths, so when are we expected to have unity?

The word of God brings UNITY to all who discover the hidden truths

God will have Mercy on whom he will have Mercy

and God will harden whomsoever he hardens

Bible says put your trust in No Man

It39s 5-Fold Ministry NOT 3-fold Ministry's comment on 2021-05-17 21:24:24:

You are not representing what is written in 1 Corinthians 12. Through Paul, the Body of Christ on this present day earth is explained. These gifts are given by the Holy Spirit; as He wills. Not as people will.

The gifts and callings are without repentance. As we stay plugged into Jesus, by way of the Holy Spirit: the gifts operate; as He wills it. He anoints the person with the gift.

If we don't know anything about these gifts, it's not going to make much sense to the natural mind. The natural mind of man/woman is at enmity with God.

There's a really good book you can pick up: "The Spiritual Man", by Watchman Nee. It will enlighten you just how useless a gift is when it's guided by a mind of carnality.

I do not mean to offend anyone at all. I found that very WEIGHTY book quite offensive! I stuck with it and knew that the rest of my life would be a battle between spiritual, or carnal (flesh; meat).

The soul is like a willful child that follows whatever is dragging it along.

The thought that we could fully give ourselves to take on the character of the Spiritual man/woman is a lifelong quest to follow the Holy Spirit. Whatever he says, do it. He will prepare us and anoint us for each task.

You need to accept that there are modern day, apostles. They are called MISSIONARIES. They go to where God leads them. The local church sends, equips, supports financially, intercedes for. They go where others are terrified to go. They could be killed for their work.

God still has Prophets. God speaks, they listen. The ones that God uses today aren't on stage: they are intercessors who give birth to Thus Saith The Lord. Ezekial 37:5. It's full time ministry. Stand in the gap; Build up a Hedge of prayer and protection. Fight off attacks from satan Eph 6. Sit in the Watchtowers. They don't have time or desire for worldly pleasures. War Room people.

We should all give our gifts to God for His use.

ISAIAH 6:7-11

Mishael

Mr Gee's comment on 2021-05-17 17:43:03:

The Criteria for being an apostle was to have seen the resurrected Christ (Acts 1:22)

Apostles and Prophets are the foundation of the church and Christ the Chief Cornerstone

(Eph. 2:20)

There are no more Apostles and Prophets they are the foundation.

The foundation of the church is The Word of God.

Old testament Prophets wrote most of the Old Testament, the Apostles wrote most of the New Testament, except Jude a servant, Hebrews writer unknown.

Apostles and Prophets were chosen by God for a special purpose, the Apostles were given power and authority to do the will of God.

Any one claiming to be either a prophet or an apostle in this dispensation of the church would have to be considered FALSE.

This is what brings "UNITY of the Faith"

This is what keeps you from being tossed about by every wind of doctrine.

Evangelists, pastors and teachers.

Lastly if Apostles and Prophets were relevant in this era, Paul would have told Timothy to ordain them instead of elders. But Paul knew Ecc 3:1 "There is a season for everything under the sun" and he knew the season for apostles ended with him 1Cor 15

Approaching Holidays or Holy Days's comment on 2020-09-15 23:44:27:

Rosh Hashanah is the Jewish New Year, and Yom Kippur comes 10 days after and is the Day of Atonement. Synagogues blast the shofar every day for a month leading up to the holiday, culminating with a sequence of 100 blasts during the Rosh Hashanah services, which take place this year on SEPTEMBER 20.

What is the meaning of Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur?

Rosh Hashanah commemorates the creation of the world and marks the beginning of the Days of Awe:

A 10-day period of introspection and repentance that culminates in the Yom Kippur holiday, also known as the Day of Atonement. Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur are the two "High Holy Days" in the Jewish religion.

>I was delivered from the occult; born again; and filled with the Holy Spirit; Yom Kippur 1985. I saw Jesus. Mishael

Reading the Bible under the direction of the Holy spirit will give us God's truth. Remember what Jesus said at the cross it is done. Play for wisdom and knowledge from Jesus God bless

Richard's comment on 2020-09-15 12:28:07:

Hello brothers and sisters.

I just feel to post about how much discord I see among people on things between the OT and NT. Not really here. It seems many people are taking to follow old Jewish laws more seriously than what Christ came to teach. Some believe that to be following the Lord rather than that of producing good fruits of the Holy Spirit within us. Galatians 5:22-23. Some denounce the writings of Saul/Paul. Where there are many wonderful things in his books that surround the Lord.

It just saddens me to see some people focus on things before Jesus Christ came to us. Sticking to those things rather than what Christ and His apostles teach. I know there is much wisdom and the Word of God in the OT. We must all be careful. As, I have no interest in looking it up again, where I have read it is ok to kill a servant under certain circumstances. Would people really believe this was the Will of God? Or as when the people were going to stone the adulterous, under the law, and Jesus kept them from doing such a thing. Of coarse the pharisees and sadducees put Christ to death because they did not believe/agree with Him. As some of the hundreds of Jewish laws are good to abide by in my eyes. It is only a small percentage of the whole list. I do not condemn, or hate, anyone. It always makes me sad to see people argue, especially over things like this.

I believe what "Brother Dan" posted about Gods law being the Ten Commandments. And what Chris stated as in reply on Psalms 72. I truly pray for all to come to the Lord to see with His eyes, and hear with His ears, and to live for Gods Will and to glorify Him always. God Bless everyone!

Mishael's comment on 2020-09-14 15:17:49:

Not in my memory. He met Jesus on the Damascus Road. He was blinded by the experience for 3 days. His ears were ok.

He heard Jesus's Voice perfectly.

He turned from walking dead person to alive in Jesus Christ, in a heartbeat. He wrote much of the New Testament (not the Gospels).

Bendito Palavra's comment on 2020-09-14 11:25:06:

Paul first met the resurrected Lord Jesus in Acts chapter 9. At that time, Paul was known as Saul. He was on his way to Damascus to persecute the believers when a blinding light shone from heaven and the Lord spoke unto him.

1st Corinthians 15 also gives Paul's recounting of Jesus' several appearances to witnesses after his resurrection.

Ndubuisi's comment on 2020-09-14 08:25:22:

Did saint Paul witness the resurrection of Christ like Peter and others did before he was made an apostle?

Ronald Friesen's comment on 2014-10-03 09:02:38:

I believe that we are all called to be evangelist even without the special gifting or title "you are my witnesses " and if we are a witness to Christ love and his Salvation for us we are to share this good news with others all not just the two or 10 that might engage in conversation and seeking to lead people to Christ. Too many people excuse themselves to say they don 't have the gift but we all have the calling from the Lord to share the good news

jason's comment on 2014-08-13 08:26:10:

I think that 4 9, and 10, are also intrinsically related to this verse as well, as it states that, "What is it, but that he also descended first into the lower parts of the earth,? " Then verse 10 goes on to say, "He that descended is the same also that ascended up far above all heavens, that he might fill all things. " This seems to indicate that he went to the deepest place to save, and then to the highest to give praise unto God, for his great and awesome mercy and kindness in doing so. He gave these ministries to demonstrate just that as well, regarding those called to those ministries, as well as those to whom they will serve.

Prophet-Leonard Barrett's comment on 2014-05-20 15:24:51:

I like this but you cannot remove a part of the foundation and except it to stand, JESUS the chief corner stone.will not please.Do you know what is a foundation if you know you will never try to removed it. Why do you think that JESUS be the chief corner stone? You must go my corner stone to step on the foundation and no one can. Matthew chapter 16 verses 18. I like this Ephesians 2 20. I like this Ben Weaver ' comment.

theresa's comment on 2014-02-18 04:21:05:

I believe the Apostles were called of God for the establishment of the church The church began with Peter and the disciples After the church was established there was no need for the title of Apostle God s church has been established the churches now are just building made by hand to give us a place to worship But God has told us that he does not dwell in temples made by hand We as Christian became the church The prophet proclaimed God s word for the future

Jared's comment on 2013-01-12 09:28:04:

God called Prophets anciently both during the time of Christ's mortal mission and long before (Moses, Noah etc.). God is the same yesterday, today and forever. God continues to call Prophets today for which I am grateful.

Ben's comment on 2012-10-21 00:43:02:

In Christ's church is the apostle the head. That was and is. Apostle Paul had not "seen Christ's resurrection and Christ chose him", but came a while after the resurrection. Thus, if I am looking for Christ's church, I need to firstly see if they have an apostle as their head.

M. chaplin's comment on 2011-11-20 19:25:06:

My thoughts on Ephesians 4:11 encompasses the fact that God will call on anyone he chooses to unite His children and prepare them for the specific work for which they are call to do. However, the choosing of apostles is not done in this time because according to the scrptures and biblical scholars an apostle is a man that has seen Christ's resurrection and who he chose himself. Pastors watch over God's people who have been entrusted in the pastor's care. A pastor who is led by God can choose leaders such as teachers and evangelist from his congreation all to help to unify the people of God. One major factor which I believe is that God will equip the leaders to do that particular ministry. Also, there are some who will rhink that they have been called to do lead in these ministries, but often fail because they accept the title without realizing that it is God and God alone who can equip them for the ministry of evangelism, of teacher in the Word of God. I strongly believe that these ministries should not require from the congregation monies or financial gain. These actions can most assure caused discord among the saints not unity.

ben weaver's comment on 2010-12-14 10:42:53:

How definitions reshape themselves to fit our cultured traditions! This verse seems to list giftings rather than offices in corporations, as our organizing has established. We often appoint a pastor to function as administrator, evangelist, teacher, and prophet. It seems that prophesies in the Bible were always divinely inspired rather than through the prophet's intellect. He spoke messages (present or future tense) without understanding them himself. As I understand it, Teacher; was one gifted to teach precept and doctrine(by speaking or writing). Pastor is similar to; shepherd, one who feeds. Apparently, these are Christ- given gifts rather than just learned and appointed positions.
