Why is it mentioned "do not provoke to anger " in the KJV but just "do not provoke " in most other versions?

I can relate to this verse. I would like fathers to love and accept their children as they are gifts from GOD. For fathers to give love and more understanding to their children and not hurt them with harsh words and not give them body aches.
