First, have you received the HolyGhost since you have believed? If you have received the HolyGhost and you desire to pray in tongues. Then, ask God to give you the gift of tongues. God will answer your prayer. I received the Holy Spirit while I was a teenager. I spoke in tongues at the initial infilling of the HolyGhost but I did not have the gift of tongues. Then, God blessed me to speak in tongues because I asked him to allow me to pray in tongues. God answered my prayer. I desired to know what I was saying while I was communing in the spirit. My spirit was being refreshed, but I did not know what I was saying to God. I asked to give me the interpretation of tongues, and guess what? He did. Interpretation does not mean translation. It means I know what was being said in tongues. If you desire, this gift, God will give it to you. I just want to make sure that you have been filled with the HolyGhost. If you received the HolyGhost by the evidence of speaking with other tongues, God will grant you the ability to speak with other tongues when you pray. It happens to me every time I pray, God will do the same for you.

I am so blessed by your testimony. I, too, experienced the infilling of the HolyGhost and the baptism in water in the name of Jesus. It is a wonderful experience for all who thirst for righteousness; the Bible promises that they will be filled. I encourage all believers to ask God to fill them with the HolyGhost. The HolyGhost is the Spirit of God; The HolyGhost is Spirit of Truth. He will lead you, direct you, and empower you for service. You cannot be an effective witness without the HolyGhost. You receive power from God. The power to live holy, sanctified(set apart for service), the power to cast out devils, the power to lay hands on the sick, and watch them recover. When the HolyGhost comes, a person will speak with other tongues. It has happened to me and I have witnessed it happen to others. The HolyGhost is real.

Jesus upholds all things by the word of His power. Tarry in Jerusalem until you be endued with power from on high. God is not going to give Holy Spirit to those who reject Him . Or to any one that will waste His goods !!!!

Bro Ojo Victor's comment on 2014-07-28 12:39:47:

The power and zeal to witness is to be endue by the Holy spirit. It takes away fear and fill us with Faith, confidence with confirmation of signs and wonders.

Ebenezer's comment on 2014-07-24 07:20:39:

De verse 8 simply talks about receiving power after the Holy Ghost has come upon you, so as to be a qualified candidate to preach the word of God to others. Thus, if anyone do not believe in the existence of the Holy Ghost I do not think dat fellow is qualified enough to preach to others about the gospel.

Pastor Roger's comment on 2014-02-18 10:42:52:

Once the Holy Ghost comes upon you you receive divine power to become an effective witness for the kingdom of God You have no power within yourself the power has to be divine much greater than that of man We are only conduit that God works through

Thy word is truth's comment on 2013-12-11 11:03:39:

IN verse 8 this is what happens when someone gets the Holy Ghost, "ye shall be witnesses unto me ". The Holy Ghost will glorify Jesus ( Jn 16:14 ), not brag on himself and use a sinner to pray in publick to be seen of men ( Matt 6:5).

paul michael's comment on 2013-11-14 14:00:38:

Without the Holy Spirit which is Jesus' strength power passion and Love for the lost evangelism is at an all time low of 1% of Christians that obey the Great Commission. We could lose our country by default. We are in a battlegroung and not a playground.

Adu Gyamfi Emmanuel's comment on 2013-03-07 23:15:23:

Without the holy spirit you are not a vessel in Christ, so pray without season for it and you shall receive Power to lead you. Stay blessed.

Thank you for all your Godly views and the King James 1611 Bible Verses.

ELAINA WHITE's comment on 2012-12-12 18:15:58:

When you truly fall in love with Jesus, HE will anoint you from the top of your head to the bottom of your feet. Falling in love with Jesus means to take all of HIS KNOWLEDGE, not only what you want. But you must love Jesus fully. Not only when it is convenient for you, or it is working for you.
