I love what Angela said 3/14/15...that fear is over rated and backs us up in a corner and make us not believe in God. I can relate holding onto fear in my walk in Christ...somethings I believed and in others I did not . I only realized It was fear when I hesitated to give that specific scenario to God. Now I realize with her comment that I did get backed up in a corner with that fear- but I am out of there in the name of Christ Jesus!!!

Godly fear means, reverence and honor.

McKelle Barksdale's comment on 2021-03-26 12:48:10:

Why does God say fear him (Deuteronomy 6:24)

If he didn't give us a spirit of fear? (2 Timothy 1-7)

Jan, it is wonderful that He deals with us as a loving father would on Earth (Heb 12:5-11) & not as a tyrant lording it over us for our many sins & weaknesses. We always notice that His dealings with us are gentle, patient, & imploring. Conviction of that sin is the first sign of the Spirit speaking to our spirit that all is not well & the Mercy Seat is available for us. How privileged & blessed we are to be His precious children.

I love and believe in God ,but I also fear God. I believe that when I step out of God's will that He might and does, deal with me. The Holy Spirit makes me very uncomfortable until I go to God in prayer and seek His forgiveness.

Abraham's comment on 2020-04-11 18:33:57:

The fear the Bible talks about is used with negative "not" refers to the condition in which we approach God.Because before Jesus ,our ancestors were given the covenant of Law on Mount Sinai to follow to live in peace with God. But the were dying like insect by a little mistake. In this way, the had been afraid to approach the Lord. Even animals died when the approached. Moses even said it that he was afraid to go near. They broke the covanant He told Jeremiah to let them know that he was about to make a new covenant with them which is of" LOVE AND PEACE not Of FEAR.(JER:31:33-34.)this is Jesus. Then through Jesus we are bound to God and live in peace andgo to God without fear..

In PS.34, David said, he sought the Lord& He delivered him from all his fears. That doesn't mean that David didn't have anymore.

Fear is so overrated, it backs us up in the corner and makes us not belive God!

Larry Frederick's comment on 2014-08-10 17:40:57:

2 Timothy 1 7 For God hath not given us the spirit of fear but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind. The word of God is the truth first, than I have faith to believe the word of the truth. Than the miraculous power, love, and discipline of our mind 's works in the full affect of the word of God to have the victory in our lives having never again fear.

Mrs.Edwards's comment on 2014-08-07 16:55:41:

I think that fear is a allusion that we make real because god tell us that he hasn 't given us a spirit of fear so who do u think he gives us a mirage of a scene where their is nothing but failure or darkness but God gives us light life more abundantly his blood was shed for a purpose bigger than we will probably be able to grasp simple because our thoughts are not his

Ron Braley's comment on 2014-08-02 17:54:44:

This is just one of the many, many verses misunderstood, misused, and misquoted in today 's church culture. There are many places in the Bible where we are told to have a healthy 'fear ' i.e. Luke 1 12, 12 4 5, and 7 16 Acts 5 10 11 and 13 16 Romans 11 20 21 and 13 7 2Corinthians 7 1 Ephesians 5 21 Philippians 2 12 1Peter 1 17 and 2 17 1John 4 18 . And, this makes sense we are to 'respect ' the power and just nature of our God, and our God the Father created us with flesh emotion that fear is one emotion that can keep us alive. In context, this 'fear ' Paul speaks of is timidity or cowardice in proclaiming the Gospel. And, Paul 's comment makes sense since any true follower of our Christ will have the Spirit of God in them. That Spirit, according to Jesus, will provide instruction and boldness In fact, Jesus told His disciples not to worry about what they 'd say before the magistrates because the Spirit would instruct them i.e. Mark 13 11 . Blessings. Ron Braley

For me, this Scripture is saying, trust God. Let Him lead me. Let His Word resonate in my mind, heart, soul. He created all things, all creatures, He is all powerful , all knowing, everywhere. I lean on Him believe in Him. Whom should I fear ???

lloyd buckley's comment on 2014-05-25 18:53:21:

Christians are fearful because people breaking into churches and killing members and getting away with it.

MockingBird's comment on 2014-04-22 07:51:02:

I we were not born with fear It was developed in me through parents and other people When I first became one of God 's children I had and am still learning not to fear Fear and Pride will always be around I do not have to go with it God has made a way of escape Sometimes it seems as a natural thing to go along with fear and pride But God says that which is natural with man is an unnatural thing with God. Through my Lord Jesus Christ I resist and stand against fear and pride. I would rather be in the perfect will of God than in the permissive will of God where the world is !!!!! The permissive will of God the devil is in it not God !!!!

Fear is faith in reverse, when it comes, abort it immediately, and speak the word of God.guard your heart, don't let Satan steal your faith and joy. Read 2 Corinthians 10:4-5, Ephesians 6, john8:44 we are engaged in a spiritual warfare, fight it with Gods sword which is the word of God.We are more than conquerors in Christ Jesus!
